Jessi Collins, LCSW-C
Jessi genuinely enjoys building a trusting, non-judgmental, friendly rapport with her clients, as therapy tends to work best when clients feel comfortable with their therapist. Jessi believes strongly in giving clients the space and time to process feelings, confront difficult issues, and discover new ways of adjusting and adapting to life’s many curveballs. The healing power of taking time out for oneself and feeling heard by another person is often underestimated.
Since 2009, Jessi has provided therapy to teens age 17+, adults, and seniors. Jessi utilizes concepts from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing and Solution-Focused treatment to help clients get "unstuck." She works mostly with clients dealing with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, anger management, grief/loss, family relationship conflict, stress management, and those that have the desire to increase their self-worth, improve personal boundaries, and better manage expectations of self and others. Jessi also has also worked extensively with individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia and psychotic disorders, individuals affected by intimate partner violence, individuals who have been incarcerated, and adults with chronic pain/medical issues.
Additionally, Jessi has been providing clinical supervision to graduate-licensed therapists since 2014. She also regularly mentors local undergraduate students who are considering careers in the counseling/psychology field. She is native Marylander and is proud to be practicing out of The Beacon Center.
